There’s always something to do on the island! Here are some suggestions to get you started:
Climb the stairs of Mountain Tower for a great view of the island:

Take a Hike - We have many trails to be explored!

Hit the Beach. We have a unique waterfront just steps from our accomodations.

Take a quick trip to Schoolhouse Beach - There’s nothing like it anywhere else!

Visit the Islands Art and Nature Center for all sorts of family friendly activities. Guided hikes, birding tours, art shows, educational displays, live music, and even a local Nature Room, there is something for everyone here.

- Join the Bitter’s Club at Nelsen’s Hall
- Take a cooking class or enjoy a fine dining experience at The Washington Hotel
- Take the Cherry Train tour
- Take the Passenger Ferry at Jackson Harbor over to Rock Island and hike to Wisconsin’s oldest lighthouse
- Tour the Farm Museum
- Take a class at Siever’s School of Fiber Arts
- Go to an event a Red Barn Park
- Attend the annual Scandinavian or Music Festival (August)
- Do some shopping at The Merc, The Island Outpost or the Vagabond
- Grab a slice at island Pizza
- Go to an island ball game and route for the Islanders
- Catch a live band at The Granary on summer weekends
- Work out or swim at the Rec Center
- Get an Icelandic Pancake breakfast at The Sunset Resort
- Practice your marksmanship at the Sportsman’s Club
- Go to the annual Fly In Fish Boil (July)
- Feed a variety of animals at the Ostrich Farm
- Take a kayak lesson with Bread and Water
- Check out Boyer’s Bluff
- Hang out with some local at The Uptown Bar
- Have Dinner on the water at The Sailor’s Pub or The Ship’s Wheel
- Rent a moped or bike and take a self-guided tour of the island
- Go to Burger Night at Karly’s Bar every Tuesday night
- Enjoy the local artists and musicians frequently featured at the Fiddler’s Green
- Visit the Deer Run Golf Course. They have mini golf too!
- Catch a show at the Trueblood Performing Arts Center. (T-PAC)
- Compete in annual Fish Derby (February)
- Eat some lawyers at K.K. Fiske’s
- Grab a famous Alby Burger and a shake from the Albatros
- Enjoy an authentic Island Wheat Beer or Death’s Door spirit
- Get a cup of joe at the Red Cup and browse their book store
- Wave to every car that passes.
- Smile at everyone.
- Just enjoy the beauty, peace and quiet of the island!
